Italian Wonder Kid Tonali is ready to wear AC Milan's Jersey


 One of the world's brightest young midfielders ignored interest from Barcelona and Manchester United to join the club he supported as a kid. 


AC Milan have completed the signing of 20-year-old Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali from Brescia, in an initial loan deal worth €10m (A$16m), with an additional €15m (A$25m) option to buy.


Tonali will take the iconic No. 8 jersey at the San Siro, which has previously been worn by legends such as Gennaro Gattuso, Roberto Donadoni, Marcel Desailly, Zvonimir Boban, Frank Rijkaard, Carlo Ancelotti and Fabio Capello.


The 20-year-old, branded by some as ‘the next Pirlo’, has been touted as one of the brightest prospects in world football, and was linked to Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester United before ultimately putting pen to paper in Milan. In fact, United reportedly made a €40m (A$65m) bid to sign the midfielder a day before he completed his move, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, with Tonali opting to stay in Italy.
