UCL: United Manager Solskjaer backfired on team's Defense..

Manchester United manager Ole  has criticized Manchester United's performance against Turkish side Basque yesterday.  Ole said the defending by United yesterday was unfortunate.  He said the manner in which United conceded the first goal was unforgivable.  He added that players need to make better decisions than this.

Manchester United conceded an embarrassing early goal before slumping to a 2-1 loss at Champions League newcomer Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday, throwing their group wide open.

Ole said the last two games have been stomach-churning and the team needs to respond to this as soon as possible.  He hopes the team will return to action against Everton on Sunday.

"They scored two goals like you do in Europe when you do not defend well enough," he told BT Sport.

"The first one is that we play a short corner and forget about the man up top. That is unforgivable. The second one as well, we are not very well organised to counter the press."

"You don't turn up and get three points in the Champions League," he added. "They are a team well organised and we were not good enough. That is it."

Ole laughed when asked by the media if he was afraid of losing his job.  "All we have to do is stand up for what we can get," he said.
